How to add your business to Apple Maps

The short answer

Add or claim your business free at businessconnect.apple.com through Apple Business. Search for your location, claim it or create it, verify it (instant by phone, up to 5 business days otherwise), then fill in your hours, photos, category and actions. The listing is free; advertising on it is optional.

Your business is probably already on Apple Maps. Apple builds listings from public data, so the real question is not how to get on the map. It is who controls what the map says about you.

Right now, that is probably nobody. Here is how to take it over, free.

Where this happens: Apple Business

Apple Business is Apple's free hub for how your company appears in Apple Maps, Siri, Wallet and Apple's other apps. It is the only way to control your listing. If you used Apple Business Connect, that is the same thing: it became Apple Business in April 2026 and accounts moved over automatically.

Go to Apple Business, sign in with an Apple Account that belongs to the business, and enter your company details. The first user to set up the organisation accepts the Terms of Service, so use a login the business controls.

Claim your listing, or create one

Search for your business by name and address.

  • It exists. Claim it. This is the normal case.
  • It does not exist. Create the location. New businesses, and places that opened recently, start here.
  • It exists twice, or the pin is wrong. Claim the correct one and report the problem from inside Apple Business. Do not create a duplicate.

Claim every location you have, not just the flagship. Only claimed locations can be managed, and later, only claimed and verified locations can advertise.

Verify it

Verification proves the location is really yours.

  • Phone verification is instant. If the location has a working listed phone number, use it.
  • Every other method can take up to 5 business days.

Check the address carefully before submitting. A bounced verification costs you another cycle.

Fill in the place card

The place card is what customers see when they tap your business. Complete it properly once:

  • Logo and cover photo. The cover is the largest single impression you make.
  • At least three photos: exterior, interior, product.
  • Accurate hours. "Open till 7 PM" sits next to your name in every search and quietly closes sales.
  • Category and contact details.
  • Actions: the things a customer can do in one tap, like booking or ordering.

A complete card also ranks better inside Maps results than a bare one, because Maps has more to match against when someone searches.

What claiming gets you

  • Your name, hours, photos and pin are correct, everywhere Apple surfaces them: Maps, Siri, CarPlay, Spotlight.
  • Wrong information stops costing you customers. A stale closing time or a mislocated pin sends people away silently.
  • You can see how people find and use your listing.
  • You become eligible to advertise. Apple Maps shows one ad per search, and only claimed, verified businesses can bid for it.

The optional next step: the ad slot

The listing is free and worth doing on its own. But since August 2026, Apple Maps also sells one ad per set of search results, and your place card is what that ad is built from. If you are claiming your business anyway, you are one step from being able to bid, and Apple is returning 15% of ad spend for a year to advertisers who start before October 11, 2026.

The complete path from claimed listing to live ad is here. If you would rather have all of it done for you, listing included, that is what we do.

Questions people ask next

Is it free to add my business to Apple Maps?

Yes. Claiming and managing your listing through Apple Business is free. You only pay if you choose to advertise on it.

Why is my business already on Apple Maps?

Apple builds listings from public data, so most established businesses already appear. Claiming the listing is what gives you control over the name, hours, photos and actions, and fixes anything wrong.

How long does it take for my business to show on Apple Maps?

Once your location is claimed and verified, edits publish quickly. Verification is the slow part: instant by phone, up to 5 business days by other methods.
